The Victron Energy Smart BatteryProtect 12/24V 220A protects batteries against excessive discharge by disconnecting non-essential DC loads before the battery voltage reaches a damaging level. It can also preserve enough battery capacity to start an engine and can function as a remote system on/off switch.

The Smart BatteryProtect automatically detects whether it is connected to a 12V or 24V system during its initial setup. Built-in Bluetooth allows the connection and disconnection voltage thresholds to be programmed through the VictronConnect app. Nine predefined voltage profiles can also be selected using the programming pin.

The Smart BatteryProtect is a unidirectional device. Current can flow only from the IN terminal to the OUT terminal. It can control current going to a load or current coming from a charger, but it cannot handle current in both directions simultaneously. Correct installation orientation is essential.

With its 220A continuous-current capacity, this model is suitable for high-current DC systems in boats, RVs, commercial vehicles, off-grid installations and backup-power systems. Its programmable voltage thresholds make it suitable for protecting a wide range of 12V and 24V battery banks.
